Kemi Remi-Dairo hearing foundation

Kemi Remi-Dairo hearing foundation is a non-profit foundation with the major aim of providing possible medical treatment platform, access to financial/technical support and education to the public on the gift of hearing and speech to people with hearing loss. Our major focus is on Africa, reading through researches made and the current report of Ear loss in African, it calls for emergency intervention. We are here to support everyone with hearing loss, with all effort and procedures in place; our vision is to reduce deafness in our society.

To be part of this vision of giving the gift of hearing, reducing the risk of hearing loss in our environment and make dreams come true for individuals with hearing loss who do not have financial resources to access the hearing technologies that will enable them hear and speak again.

Social and emotional impact

One of the main impacts of hearing loss is on the individual’s ability to communicate with others. Spoken language development is often delayed in children with unaddressed hearing loss.

it is suggested that half of all cases of hearing loss can be prevented through public health measures, Major purpose of this Foundation.

Economic impact

According to WHO estimates; Unaddressed hearing loss poses an annual global cost of US$ 750 billion. This includes health sector costs (excluding the cost of hearing devices), costs of educational support, loss of productivity, and societal costs. In developing countries, children with hearing loss and deafness rarely receive any schooling. Adults with hearing loss also have a much higher unemployment rate.

Exclusion from communication can have a significant impact on everyday life, causing feelings of loneliness, isolation, and frustration, particularly among older people with hearing loss.
