Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act, according to American psychiatric association.
Hearing loss, also known as hearing impairment, is a partial or total inability to hear. A deaf person has little to no hearing. Hearing loss may occur in one or both ears. In children, hearing problems can affect the ability to learn spoken language and in adults, it can cause work related difficulties.
The two definitions above shows that one leads to the other. When you lack the ability to communicate well or function well in the community or anywhere you find yourself, it leaves you in sad and depressed mood. Imagine in a place where people are discussing and the happy mood from the intense of the discussion is so high but you are totally lost because you can’t hear what anybody is saying.
This leads to aggressiveness, because you tend to keep thinking that people can’t feel you, they are not audible enough, or you keeping asking yourself why they can’t speak the language you understand. You are worried that you are no longer loved, you want to fight everyone for not considering your position or predicament.
The moment you give in to depression you make ways for all terrible ending like suicide and the likes. Hearing loss should not deprive you your joy, this open room to depression.
If you however find yourself is such situation, please keep a positive attitude and always see positive in all situations. Being deaf can be difficult and highly uninteresting but it is definitely not the end of the world. Seek solution if its still possible and at most stay far away from all thoughts and acts that can lead to depression. Stay Happy.
